The Storyteller (Polochar Standing Stone, South Uist)

He stands on the edge of the Atlantic where he has stood for thousands of years. He remembers long ago when man placed him there and in his distant memory he wonders why. He has seen the seasons change and the years pass endlessly. How many hands have touched him during that time. He has seen people laugh and play before him, seen people marvel at his age and the scenery around him. He has been visited by thousands of years of humanity and he has become part of their story as they become part of his. He embraces humanity within his story, paying no notice to race, religion, age, gender, sexuality or any other labels peculiar to the human race. To him the story continues and memories entwine throughout eternity.
